Great Pay to $55K JOB DESCRIPTION: The Analytical Technologist will be an innovative team player and participate in (1) ideation, (2) laboratory, (3) analytical work to support the QA activities and provide technical assistance to other departments. JOB DUTIES: ? Responsible for performing their assigned tasks according to company procedures in the most cost-effective way ? Responsible for the technical quality of work performed ? Follow SOP?s and QA/QC requirements for routine tasks ? Perform sample analysis and document results ? Calibrate balances and other equipment on a day-by-day basis, as required by SOPs ? Inform Analytical Laboratory Assistant Manager when analytical results are not in specification ? Identify and report any opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, customer satisfaction and quality ? Cleaning and maintaining laboratory utensils, apparatus, and environment ? Record results in electronic files as well as hard copy files ? Read, understand and perform different monographs such as U.S.P., BP, AOAC, etc. and provide experienced input and assist other senior team members in product/an/or process research and development ? Perform analytical tests using equipment such as HPLC, GC, AA, and ICP ? Extract and prepare samples for instrumental analysis ? Conduct physical tests on samples such as pH and specific gravity ? Perform sample calculations, and write up in laboratory notebook. Report results on sample submission sheets ? Compile & analyze (statistically, mathematically and/or graphically) test results, and prepare & communicate reports ? Document and maintain records ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS JOB REQUIREMENTS: ? Must be tidy/organized/willing to help in keeping the Lab this way ? Must be able to work with minimal supervision ? Able to perform complex math problems, generate reports ? Must effectively communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers, supervisors, and customers PHYSICAL DEMANDS: ? Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis ? Must have the ability to be alert and focused at all times ? Twisting, bending and stretching 8 hours per day ? Able to perform complex procedures ? Standing, sitting and walking 8-12 hours per day MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ? Bachelor or Masters Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, and Chemical Engineering ? Relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical analysis, environmental analysis, food analysis or academics ? Fundamental knowledge of applied mathematical principles ? Fundamental knowledge of chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and chemical processes ? Must be computer literate to include experience with Microsoft Office Suite ? Must be able to communicate (oral & written) in English PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: ? Masters Degree in Chemistry ?
