Dolores Huerta Foundation, (DHF), is hiring for Civic Engagement Canvassers. DHF is dedicated to strengthening our local influence and mobilizing our base of supporters to drive change. Our Civic Engagement program presents a unique chance to collaborate with a team committed to reshaping our state's future through grassroots organizing and mobilization. Join us in building a powerful movement for positive change in our communities and apply to be a Canvasser! What a Civic Engagement Canvasser does:

• Contact voters via door-to-door canvassing or participation in "hotspot" community events.
• Aim to meet daily and weekly benchmarks for the number of voters contacted, voters registered, and supporters identified.
• Actively recruit volunteers for voter registration/voter education canvassing and phone banking initiatives.
• Ensure prompt submission of all data and submit daily reports to track progress. The Ideal Candidates will meet the following Requirements:
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is also preferred but not mandatory.
  • Available for mandatory orientation and training
  • Commitment to adhering to scheduled phone banking or canvassing shifts
  • Adeptness in using a cellphone, laptop, Zoom, web browser, and canvassing application.
  • Utilization of personal laptops and smartphones for outreach, with a provided technology stipend of $3 per day.
  • Adherence to provided scripts and accurate dissemination of information to voters.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills and the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Capability to read a street map for door-to-door canvassing.
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions, engage in light physical activities such as standing or walking for extended periods, and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Strong dedication to social and racial justice initiatives.
  • Your own auto transportation, preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle may be eligible for a gas reimbursement.
