Registered Nurse (RN) | Cardiac Catheterization Lab Location: San Luis Obispo, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,023 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/26/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of three years recent clinical cardiology or cardiovascular experience required One year invasive cardiac cath lab experience preferred Two years recent critical care experience preferred License: Current RN license in state of practice required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred Must-Have: IABP competent or able to become so within six months of hire required Description: This position collaborates with the charge RN and CV techs to ensure coordination and provision of nursing care to patients. Assists with cardiovascular and other invasive studies or treatments. Consistently performs comprehensive advanced clinical patient assessments before, during, and post-procedure, demonstrating awareness of age-specific and diagnosis-related differences. Provides appropriate nursing interventions in stable and emergent patient situations. Demonstrates competence in arrhythmia recognition and treatment, hemodynamic monitoring, care and maintenance of arterial access sites, and ventilator management. Is capable of providing care for patients using the intra-aortic balloon pump and monitoring those with multiple titrated drips, demonstrating knowledge of pharmacological interactions and effects. Manages care for patients requiring cardiac pacing and monitors patients receiving conscious sedation. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of equipment used, including pulse oximeters, ACT machines, and hemodynamic monitors, and is able to troubleshoot routine problems. Exhibits knowledge of asepsis principles and consistently utilizes correct aseptic techniques. Competent in scrubbing for all cardiovascular procedures and consistently provides procedure-related education to patients and/or their families. Delivers pre-procedure education regarding the differing roles and responsibilities of cath lab team members. Uses teaching methods appropriate to the condition, culture, and assessed learning readiness of the patient. Completes legible, accurate, and timely documentation of all nursing care provided, including evaluations of patient responses to medication, treatments, and procedures. Demonstrates competency in arterial/venous catheter and sheath removal, assessing potential problems and implementing appropriate interventions. Exhibits advanced knowledge and recognition of complex hemodynamics including gradients, valve area calculations, resistances, and pathology-related waveforms.
