of Infection Prevention (IP) and Staff Development DSD (DSD) is
responsible for overseeing, leading, and coordinating infection
control and clinical education across skilled nursing facilities.
The Manager of IP/DSD implements evidence-based practices in
infection prevention, fosters continuous clinical learning, leads
staff education, competency development initiatives, and ensures
regulatory compliance. The role involves working closely with
on-site Infection Preventionists, Directors of Staff Development
and facility leadership, ensuring alignment with internal standards
and quality improvement goals. Qualifications Education ·
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required Experience · 3 years of
relevant experience in a Long Term Care setting required · 2 years
of experience in a leadership, educator, or infection control role
required · Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology,
infectious disease, and aseptic technique to include standard and
transmission-based precautions required Licenses and Certifications
· RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within
the state of California required · BLS - Current Basic Life Support
(BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA)
required · LTC-CIP - Long Term Care Certificate of Infection
Prevention Training in Long Term Care Infection Control by a
recognized association such as the Association for Professionals in
Infection Control (APIC) or the Centers of Disease Control (CDC)
required · DSD - Certified Director of Staff Development
required
