Here at The Wonderful Company, we are building a 'best in class' Construction Management Team. We need an organized and experienced leader to partner with the Wonderful Citrus, POM Wonderful and Wonderful Pistachios business units to help drive, develop, and execute capital projects. The Associate Director of Capital Projects will provide budget preparation and oversite, organization, implementation, scheduling and have the ability to interact with contractors, suppliers and various levels of management. This individual will play a senior-level role and be responsible for all aspects of project management. This is a "hands-on" position responsible for handling multiple assignments at any one time.

Job Description

A Day in the Life at Wonderful:

Work with and maintain relationship with the supporting business unit
Develop and present capital plan to Business Unit Executive Committee
Manage team that will develop and execute capital projects for the supporting business unit
Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion for complex projects
Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
Work with local government agencies or utilities to obtain pertinent permits
Review the work progress on daily basis
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
Maintain a Safe Construction Zone -- ensure all contracts meet and follow OSHA standards

Qualifications

Your Contribution to Wonderful:

Minimum 10 Years of Facilities/Construction Project Management experience
BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field
Proven working experience in construction management. Strong commercial experience. Experience working in a high-end residential environment a big plus
Understand all permitting/regulations required i.e. CEQA, SWPPP, Phase I, II, or III Environmental, SJVAPCD regulations, Earthwork and Building permits, etc.
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
Understanding of all facets of the construction process
Familiarity with construction management software packages
Valid California State driver's license required since it's required to drive to Central Valley project locations
COVID vaccination will be required for this position unless candidate has a legally valid exemption
