Local major agriculture company in Delano is seeking to add a a Maintenance Mechanic to their team! This Direct-Hire opportunity offers great base hourly pay up to $28 (depending on experience) + benefits.

Position Summary: Ensures safe and appropriate equipment operation by proper diagnosis, repair, and routine maintenance of all Pistachio processing equipment within the OEM specs. Must have the ability to maintain and keep processing equipment in like new condition. Processing equipment includes but not limited to, conveyor belts, packing equipment, sorting equipment, motors, gear boxes, bearings, sensors, driers, hullers, and blowers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

--- Assist Pistachio operations in adjustments on sorting and packaging equipment.
--- Troubleshoot operation equipment, finding the root cause of the malfunction.
--- Restart equipment after repairs to ensure proper operations of equipment.
--- Repair and replace electrical wiring and components.
--- Record repairs and maintenance performed in an accurate and timely manner.
--- Ability to work on AC/DC power and control voltages.
--- Effectively troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and process issues in an independent manner.
--- Change bearings.
--- Check and replace gear boxes & electrical motors.
--- Set up, adjust, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality on this equipment.
--- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment for proper operation. Able to diagnose problems independently and make repairs as needed,
--- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
--- Troubleshoot, assembles, installs, and maintains systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair as needed.
--- May use cutting and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
--- Execute changeovers in a timely manner using a pit stop mentality.
--- Troubleshoot electromechanical equipment associated with the hulling, drying, washing, sorting, and packaging processes.
--- Execute preventive maintenance plans and takes appropriate action as needed.
--- Document all work done on work orders per established procedures.
--- Maintain a safe environment by following regulations and plant safety requirements.
--- Must be familiar with hand tools and power tools.
--- Perform other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

--- Minimum 3 years--- experience within the ag/food manufacturing industry.
--- High school diploma or equivalent; AA degree or certificate from trade school preferred.
--- Must have basic PC skills to be able to work in an E-Maintenance work order system online.
--- Working knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, repair, and maintenance.
--- Practical troubleshooting skills; must be able to diagnose electrical and/or mechanical problems systematically. Must have PM skills.
--- Working knowledge of AC & DC power and control voltages.
--- Complies with CAlOSHA safety standards.
--- Available to work any shift and holidays. Ability to travel to other company locations such as Stockton, WA and OR as well as day trips to Maricopa, Delano and Lost Hills locations.
