Position reports to Controller while working closely with CFO Career Advancement Low cost health benefits 4% 401k match two weeks vacation and one week sick Excellent culture and tight knit team Job Details Job Details We are currently seeking an ambitious, highly-skilled, and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to utilize their expertise in accounting and finance, while playing a crucial role in our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, financial reporting, and conducting both month-end and year-end close processes. In addition, the candidate will be involved in financial analysis, variance analysis, audit and compliance, CAPEX reporting, and fixed assets. The role also requires close collaboration with other departments and the ability to manage ad hoc projects as needed. Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a timely basis. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries. Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow. Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP. Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and anomalies in financial data. Conduct variance analysis to understand the company's financial performance and identify potential areas of improvement. Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements, and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and reports. Prepare and manage CAPEX reporting, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of capital expenditures. Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation schedules. Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and accurate financial reporting. Participate in ad hoc projects as needed, providing financial expertise and insights. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the manufacturing or food processing industry. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent analytical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Self-motivated and able to work independently, but also comfortable working in a team environment.
