• Work/life balanceJob DetailsThe Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for oversight of cost accounting staff, oversight of cost production, inventory counts; tracking cost of goods sold, and calculating overhead costs. Analyze data to recommend ways to make our products and processes more efficient and cost effective. Work with department managers to develop analyses and deliver reports Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain cost accounting system, documentation, and records Determine costs and efficiency of company purchasing activities Review costs for all external inventory, labor, and material purchases Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings Collect and compile purchasing data for analysis Prepare and complete internal cost audits Review and document inventory and material purchases Product and materials inventory counts and valuations. Prepare documents and interpret financial information regarding cost improvements for managers, executives, and owners. Maintain company accounting procedures and processes Present cost estimates and budgets for new purchases Keep accurate records and update existing and new purchased materials and goods Compile documentation on standard costs and company production costs Assist in annual financial statement audit and general ledger preparation Prepare forecasts and plan future purchasing costs according to fiscal needs Analyze other production/process issues or prepare other reports as directed by senior management or owners.Identify and quantify cost factors in the production of our products (e.g. blueberries and pistachios). Manage company inventory counts; tracking cost of goods sold and calculating overhead costs. Analyze data to recommend ways to make our products and processes more efficient and cost effective. Work with the Sales and Production management to develop analyses and deliver reports that allow us to optimize operating results.Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance7+ years of cost accounting experience in a food manufacturing/processing environment. Must have a strong Cost Systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of GAAP accounting principles. Computer Literate - Advanced MS Excel skills and the ability to use MS Outlook and Word Experience with SAP, QuickBooks and KRONOS labor levels is a plus. Experience working with engineering and manufacturing/production management on development and analysis of cost standards. Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Bi-lingual in Spanish/English is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
